Emergency First Responder (EFR) Course

Course overview

This training course is designed to train those acting as medical first responders in any workplace environment. This course provides the knowledge and skills required to manage the initial stages of an accident or medical emergency.

Who should attend?

All staff members who are required to be first responders in the event of an accident or medical emergency occurring in the workplace. Typical workplace environments are office, industrial, manufacturing, catering and building sites. EFR’s can only practice when working as part of a PHECC CPG approved organisation.

Pre-Requisites

In order to attend this course the student must have completed a CFR – Responder course, we can provide this training if required.

Course Programme

The course runs over 5 days (40 hours) and consists of the following elements:
  • Accident scene control
  • Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Trauma and control of bleeding
  • Airway management and oxygen administration
  • Burns and poisons
  • Fracture and soft tissue injuries
  • Use of spinal boards
