Occupational First Aid (OFA) Course

Course overview

The Occupational First Aid Training Course is designed to cater for the needs of a wide range of clients in all workplaces.

All of our instructors are qualified and experienced firefighter/paramedics.

The course is a requirement of the 2005 Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act.

This course is also now QQI accredited.

Who should attend?

Carefully selected members of staff who have been chosen to carry out the role of workplace first aider. First aiders should consist of members of the work force drawn from all areas of the premises ensuring no area is left unrepresented. Allowance should be made for absenteeism due to leave etc.

 

Objectives

To give the students the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage an accident or incident where first aid skills are required.

 

Course Programme

The OFA course is usually of 3 days (24 Hours) duration (this can be scheduled to fit with clients needs) and consists of a number of elements including:

  • Accident/Scene Control
  • Airway/Foreign Body obstructed airway
  • CPR
  • AED
  • Trauma/Bleeding Control
  • Shock Management
  • Burns/Poisons
  • Broken Bones

Course Fees

€220 per person Plus €30 per person for QQI Level 5 Cert (min 8 / max 10 students per course).

When training is completed in the DFB Training Centre, course fees include tea, coffee & lunch in our dedicated canteen.
